This is a revamped submission of Savannah Grass.
This is a 42 inch tall, wheel thrown/slab built piece. the top and bottom sections were thrown, and the middle was sculpted from slabs. I only had five days to make this piece from start to finish in order to make my deadline to enter the Ohio Governors Youth Art Show. It took four days to dry, and as soon as the kiln was safe to open we took this out and drove it to the first stage of judging. The texturing was achieved useing a stamp, a fork, an afro-pick, and a sponge. Coloring is from Copper Carb and Ochre.
I took multiple shots from differant angles and some close-ups, and compiled them into one big picture.
If anyone would like to buy this, it is for sale, lol!
Wow...pretty mesmerizing. You have a nice blend of African and, quoting HP Lovecraft, Cyclopean style. It just seems to change shape every time I look at it.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This is YOUR opportunity to mock, ridicule and generally take great delight and amusement whilst poking fun at the beloved Volunteers and Staff of deviantART.
