Wow.

I can't believe that it has been more than a year since I updated things around here. My apologies, life has been beyond chaotic: New job that started the date of my previous journal entry and has taken over my life (the night shift is a bitch, but it pays the bills), new apartment, new roommate, family insanity that is so beyond belief that I may just have to write a book, and a general lack of extra time.

I've let my art slide because between school and work, I was incredibly burnt out. Having to repeat the same six assignments over and over and over and over for classes left me creatively dead inside. Work is still draining me, but the ideas are starting to pop back into my head, especially my night photography work. Hopefully post some things soon (I have an idea involving flaming steel wool, snow, and a bridge percolating right now...)

Hope to be more active from now on, wondering who from the old crowd is left?

Honestly, I've been on this site for a very long time, almost eight years now, and I never thought I would get a DD. I almost cried.

It's a little sad to me to have to admit it, but I think I've reached a point, both as an artist and in my life, where I feel like I've outgrown dA.

It's been a very long time, more than six years with this account, and another two before that using a friend's account to browse back in the day before I had my own computers. Over that time I've evolved from doing ceramics and designing clothing, to now being on my way to having a degree in photography.

I've made many friends, and gotten so much inspiration, and so many ideas from this site, but as time goes on more and more of my friends are deactivating their accounts, making me feel like the last one left. The forums that used to be endlessly entertaining and populated by a group of people I would like to spend a weekend bender with, have devolved into a place where the whiney teenager prevails. It's just not all that much fun anymore.


So, in the end I'm not deactivating my account, and I will remain an active co-founder of the groups I'm involved with, but don't expect a lot of art and/or journal entries from me for the forseeable future. Who knows, give me some time to finish school, and I'll probably be back with bells on.

A warning to my watchers: the title of this journal is very appropriate, and if scantily clad people isn't your thing then you have been warned!

I'm visiting my parents in Arizona (it's been great, but I can't wait to get home again!), and got the opportunity to shoot some Boudoir shots at a new friend's studio out here. I had a blast, and I think this is something I could see myself pursuing on my own!

That's all for now, just wanted to post a friendly warning so that no one ended up being completely shocked!
